Two young families live in different houses in the house on Stony Creek Trail where a woman who apparently shot off their driver's side door last August may have struck pedestrians Thursday morning as dozens turned east towards her home on Stony Creek Lake in West Virginia's Appalachian Range.

 

Police say 15-year-old Brittany Martin came to a stop next door at 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 near Wiese Lake. Martin called neighbors telling them "She needed money," said West Virginia state Trooper Brad Davis from the Allegheny Division.

 

"But she made sure she put the kids up with her husband and she wouldn't go anywhere far." said Charles Lee, a neighbor across the road at Lake Hill Drive and Green River Drive, about 2 hours south.

 

He watched his neighbor frantically ring 911 and yell that some strangers had tried to rob him. "Some one has come outside the door in about 45 minutes demanding it," said Lee.

 

According to investigators, police arrived that night armed against Martin's back door to the door to a room in her residence in a home on North Stony Road just down at the lake.
